Literature Text

Gusts of wind chasing the snow around
Hollow howl through the cracks and hallways
Lonely in ice cold rooms
Staring in to it
The everlasting darkness

The only one still breathing
The darkness has claimed the rest

Chilled to the bone
Not by cold
But fear
Chains frozen to the skin
Frost forming on their surface
Getting warm again
As the darkness devourers what is left
Feeling a bit cold.

I don't think anyone who's never experienced this kind of cold up here in the north can fully understand what freezing is like. But I think that they by reading your wonderfully beautiful poem get as close as imagining it as possible. :)

I, however, read this in a more figuratively way: as describing a state of status quo - terribly dysfunctional because of the lack of change, like everythings's frozen. :)
